Within our craft gallery we have an exhibition area for an invited artist to show their work for a period of two months. This is an opportunity for Craft in the Bay to exhibit contemporary craft and applied art by non members of the Makers Guild in Wales.
These artists have achieved national and/or international recognition as professional artists and designers within their chosen craft discipline.

| Virginia Graham |
| 1 June - 31 July 2008 |

|
In this new exciting showcase we are delighted to show the work by Virginia Graham.
After graduating with a BA (hons) ceramics from UWIC in Cardiff, Virginia began to set up her own studio practise in 2000. Currently based at Fireworks Clay Studios.
Virginia's attention is drawn to the collector who consciously hoards objects. Her fascination lies in the way these objects, that are originally intent for use are now so often displayed behind glass never to be used for fear of betraying their newfound status.
Virginia's teapots and tea services are the ultimate collectable ceramics. |

| Samantha Bryan |
| 1st August to 30th September |

|
Samantha creates wonderful fairy sculptures made from wire, leather, found objects and other collected materials. These unique and humorous fairies have been inspired by Victorian gadgetry and invention - she depicts everyday life in 'fairyland'.
Samantha says of her work; 'My sculptures evoke a sense of nostalgia, escapism and makebelieve necessary to remove the viewer temporarily from their worries. I endeavour to capture every imagination!'.
