Trained in ceramics at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art, then in Art Therapy at South Herts College of Art, Barbara Lock works in Cardiff making hand built pots. Once formed they are painted with layers of colour and sometimes textured.
Current concerns with reference to psychodynamic processes are: -
- integration of form and decoration
- bleeding through and fusion of colours
- allusion to ageing and weathering
Inspiration is taken from reflections, shadows, light, layers of peeling paint and contours of the Welsh countryside and coastline.
