| A patchwork quilt maker for over twenty five years, Judi Mendelssohn¹s work uses traditional patterns with a contemporary twist, mostly through the use of colour, which is always a predominant feature.
Using mostly cotton fabrics, it is always machine pieced and quilted by machine or Œbig stitch¹ hand quilted. Inspiration for work can come from a variety of sources: the fabric, a poem or song title, frequently from a play of light across the landscape.
In 2005 she completed a commission from the South and Mid Wales region of the Quilters¹ Guild of the British Isles to make a quilt for their twenty-fifth anniversary permanent collection.
In addition to making quilts, which are wall hangings and throws rather than for beds, Judi gives talks and workshops in patchwork around the whole of the UK.
She is Assistant Editor for Patchwork & Quilting magazine and acts as a tour leader for P&Q Tours to the USA.
