Cost: £150
Suitable for those with prior feltmaking experience.
Aimed at advanced/masterclass level.
The objective of this two day workshop is to create an art piece that is inspired by natural forms that puts both handmade felt and photographic image together as a finished piece. One inspires the other and the skill is to use both mediums together and to translate the image into felt.
The focus of the workshop will challenge scale in design and process within a wide creative context. Students may make a set of pieces within a theme or concentrate on one larger piece.
This is an opportunity to exploit the nuno felt process with freedom and innovative thinking!
This workshop encourages students to challenge the use of materials and experiment creatively by embracing other craft techniques to explore ways of enriching the surface textures of felted cloth.
The workshop covers colour blending, subtle use of pre-felts, laminating and cutwork, collage, overlaying of materials and keen observation of form and design. Resist techniques such as pleating will enrich the materials stock.
Working with found objects and many other fascinating techniques will be part of this intense and creative course.
