UNFOLDING WELSH TEXTILES: PAST & PRESENT
Community Outreach Project 2025
With the financial support of the Ashley Family Foundation the Makers Guild Wales have been able to offer an exciting programme of outreach craft workshops with schools and community groups over the past few months. The theme of the workshops linked to the forthcoming exhibition at Craft in the Bay: Unfolding Welsh Textiles: Past & Present. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
Guild members and textile artists Alison Moger and Claire Cawte have been very busy engaging with school children and adults, teaching them skills in fabric print, stitchwork and felting.  Illustrator Sue Shields has been busy teaching at a craft club in Radyr Library, helping participants to explore their creativity through drawing, text and print. Examples of the work made by the school children and community groups will be exhibited at Craft in the Bay from Wednesday 20th August.
