Architectural Candle Lanterns
23rd Febuary 2019
Taking inspiration from a favourite building be it a ruined castle, a gothic church or modernist concrete this workshop focuses on developing your chosen inspiration into a slab built candle lantern.
You will be guided through simple development of ideas before being introduced to slab building methods using terracotta clay. You will be shown how to apply detail both as a relief and by piercing the structure which will ultimately allow the light to shine through your finished piece.
Once dry your finished piece will be fired at Craft in the Bay for collection at a later date.
Ideally bring a printed image with you, but there will be some provided if needed.
