Sketchbooks - Drawing & Printmaking with Sasha Kingston
Six morning sessions
Dates: Tuesday 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th March, Tuesday 2nd, 9th April 2019
Times: 10:00 – 13:00
Sketchbooks can be called many things - journals, notebooks, visual ideas books, visual diaries, workbooks...
A sketchbook provides a unique way to observe, explore and store information about whatever arouses your curiosity and interest. Ideas can flow through experimenting with drawing/mark making techniques, linking ideas, using annotated notes and simply enjoying the creative process. Sketchbooks are fascinating artworks in their own right - full of creative observations and ideas.
They also feed into further projects such as sculpture, painting, ceramics, textiles, interior design, event planning - they have limitless potential!
This short course will cover drawing and mark making skills through the use of a variety of drawing and printing materials and techniques. Inspiration from the structure, texture, pattern and colour within natural and man made forms will be a starting point for you to begin your sketchbook journey. Workshop includes monoprint and collagraph print techniques, stitch and collage.
Suitable for all abilities. Sketchbook and materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring any of your own drawing materials that you may have at home.
