We are a unique Charitable Craft Organisation!

We champion Welsh craft makers, by engaging with and and inspiring audiences to learn about craft, through craft demonstrations workshops and community engagement programmes. The Makers Guild in Wales was set up as a volunteer led Maker Co-operative in 1984, and we still value that ethos.

Our Makers are spread all over Wales but our home is our unique Landmark Heritage building, Craft in the Bay, in Cardiff.

Our charitable purpose is to Inspire, Support and Celebrate.

  • Inspiring craft engagement - The Guild inspires engagement and learning about contemporary craft, by providing opportunities for audiences and artists to experience contemporary applied art and craft in Wales.
  • Supporting Welsh craft makers- The Guild is a membership organisation of Welsh craft-makers who all share in the Guilds strong co-operative ethos.
  • Celebrating craft excellence- Championing high quality hand-made crafts and applied art in Wales both of its members work and of invited National and International Artists and Makers.
Rydym yn Sefydliad Crefft unigryw!

Rydym yn hyrwyddo crefftwyr Cymreig, trwy ymgysylltu â chynulleidfaoedd a’u hysbrydoli i ddysgu am grefft, trwy weithdai, arddangosfeydd crefft a rhaglenni ymgysylltu cymunedol. Sefydlwyd Urdd Gwneuthurwyr Cymru fel Cwmni Cydweithredol Gwneuthurwyr a arweinir gan wirfoddolwyr ym 1984, ac rydym yn dal i gefnogi’r ethos hwnnw heddiw.

Mae ein Gwneuthurwyr wedi’u gwasgaru ledled Cymru ond ein cartref yw ein hadeilad Treftadaeth Tirnod unigryw, Crefft yn y Bae, yng Nghaerdydd.

Ein pwrpas craidd yw Ysbrydoli, Cefnogi a Dathlu.

• Ysbrydoli ymgysylltu â chrefftau – Mae’r Urdd yn ysbrydoli ymgysylltiad a dysgu am grefft gyfoes, drwy ddarparu cyfleoedd i gynulleidfaoedd ac artistiaid i gael profiad o gelf a chrefft gymhwysol gyfoes yng Nghymru.
• Cefnogi crefftwyr Cymreig - Mae'r Urdd yn sefydliad aelodaeth o grefftwyr Cymreig sydd oll yn rhannu ethos cydweithredol cryf yr Urdd.
• Dathlu rhagoriaeth crefftau - Hyrwyddo crefftau o safon uchel wedi'u gwneud â llaw a chelf gymhwysol yng Nghymru, gydag Artistiaid a Gwneuthurwyr Cenedlaethol a Rhyngwladol gwahoddedig.
