 The Makers Guild in Wales is seeking new Trustees to join its Board

The Makers Guild in Wales is a national applied art and craft membership organisation based in Cardiff, Wales. The organisations exists to engage and inspire audiences as a centre of excellence for Craft and applied art, and to champion Welsh craft makers. Our core purpose is to Inspire, Support and Celebrate.
  • Inspiring craft engagement - The Guild inspires engagement and learning about contemporary craft, by providing opportunities for audiences and artists to experience contemporary applied art and craft in Wales.
  • Supporting Welsh craft makers- The Guild is a membership organisation of Welsh craft-makers who all share in the Guilds strong co-operative ethos.
  • Celebrating craft excellence- Championing high quality hand-made crafts and applied art in Wales both of its members work and of invited National and International artists.


The Makers Guild in Wales is fully committed to its charitable aims, namely the promotion and preservation of applied art and craft skills, by presenting craft and applied art of the highest quality for the public to view in its gallery, Craft in the Bay in the heart of Cardiff Bay. The Guild has been successfully managing to sustain and maintain its Charitable Objectives for over 30 years, namely: ““The Objects are to advance education for the public benefit in the visual Arts and Crafts in particular but not exclusively by exhibitions of high quality handmade crafts and the provision of workshop programmes”

The Makers Guild in Wales is seeking new Trustees to join its Board, we are particularly looking for individuals who share our passion for the Arts with experience in any of the following HR, Business, Education and Finance, though experience in other areas would be considered.

Trustees are unpaid voluntary roles, with the Board meeting 6 times per year at Craft in the Bay, Trustees are also expected to sit on other sub-committees if required.

  • Dathlu rhagoriaeth crefft - Hyrwyddo celf a chrefft ymarferol o safon uchel yng Nghymru, gan ei aelodau a gan artistiaid cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol gwahoddedig.



Mae Urdd Gwneuthurwyr Cymru wedi ymrwymo'n llwyr i'w nodau elusennol, sef hyrwyddo a chadw sgiliau celf a chrefft gymhwysol, trwy gyflwyno celf a chrefft gymhwysol o'r safon uchaf i'r cyhoedd ei weld yn ei oriel, Crefft yn y Bae yng nghanol Bae Caerdydd. Mae'r Urdd wedi llwyddo i reoli a chynnal ei Amcanion Elusennol am dros 30 o flynyddoedd, sef: "Hyrwyddo addysg er budd y cyhoedd yng Nghelf a Chrefft weledol gan arddangos crefftau o ansawdd uchel a darparu rhaglenni gweithdai yn yr oriel."
 

Mae Urdd Gwneuthurwyr Cymru yn chwilio am Ymddiriedolwyr newydd i ymuno â'i Fwrdd. Rydym yn edrych yn arbennig am unigolion sy'n rhannu ein hangerdd am y Celfyddydau mewn unrhyw un o'r meysydd canlynol: adnoddau dynol, busnes, addysg a chyllid, er y byddai profiad mewn meysydd eraill yn cael ei ystyried hefyd.
Mae Ymddiriedolwyr yn rolau gwirfoddol di-dâl, gyda chyfarfod Bwrdd 6 gwaith y flwyddyn yng Nghrefft yn y Bae, disgwylir i Ymddiriedolwyr hefyd eistedd ar is-bwyllgorau eraill os oes angen.
