DEBORAH EDWARDS

Jeweller / GEMYDD

Mandy Nash
Deborah studied for a BA in jewellery and silversmithing at John Cass School of Art (London Guildhall). She remained in London working for internationally respected jeweller Mah Rana and for Contemporary Applied Arts. In 1998 Deborah was awarded a Craft Council setting up grant which helped her start her own business. In 1999 she moved back to Wales and has now established a workshop on her family's farm outside Usk.
Deborah designs elegant jewellery with clean lines and a high level of finish. Her pieces often have moving parts which add an element of fun to her jewellery.
Deborah works to commission in silver, gold, precious and semi precious stones and particularly enjoys designing and making wedding,  engagement rings and stacking ring sets. Deborah is also happy to teach couples to make their own wedding rings in day courses run at her workshop near Usk.

Astudiodd Deborah BA mewn gemwaith a gof arian yn Ysgol Gelf John Cass (London Guildhall). Arhosodd yn Llundain yn gweithio i’r gemydd Mah Rana, sy'n enwog yn rhyngwladol, ac am y Celfyddydau Cyfoes Cymhwysol. Yn 1998 dyfarnwyd grant Cyngor Crefft i Deborah a oedd yn ei helpu i ddechrau ei busnes ei hun. Yn 1999 symudodd yn ôl i Gymru ac mae bellach wedi sefydlu gweithdy ar fferm ei theulu y tu allan i Frynbuga.
Mae Deborah yn dylunio gemwaith cain gyda llinellau glân a gorffeniad o lefel uchel. Yn aml mae gan ei darnau rannau symudol sy'n ychwanegu elfen o hwyl i'w gemwaith.
Mae Deborah yn gweithio i gomisiwn mewn arian, aur, cerrig gwerthfawr a lled werthfawr ac mae'n mwynhau dylunio a gwneud modrwyau priodas a dyweddïo a setiau o fodrwyon sy’n medru cael eu  pentyrru. Mae Deborah hefyd yn hapus i ddysgu cyplau i wneud eu modrwyau priodas eu hunain mewn cyrsiau dydd a gynhelir yn ei gweithdy ger Brynbuga.
