LISA-MARIE TANN

28 September - 10 november 2019

This new body of ceramic work by Lisa-Marie Tann has been inspired by the coast of South Wales, in particular Ogmore-by-Sea. The distinctive local rock formations, textures and colours have been abstracted and incorporated into the ceramic pieces. The greys and blacks are drawn from the particular hues of the rocks, while the flashes of rust and green suggest the grassy banks leading down to the coast.

An experienced ceramicist, Lisa-Marie has experimented with new techniques here to produce work that reflects the sources of her inspiration. The collection includes wall pieces, free-standing sculptural blocks, vessels and jewellery.

Lisa-Marie joined the Makers Guild Wales in 2015 and is an active member of the Guild's exhibitions/education committee. Living and working in Cardiff, Lisa is a graduate of Cardiff School of Art & Design, CMU.
