STANDING STILL - A SHARED AESTHETIC

Standing Still brings together three artists who share similar principles linking to the natural environment. Each artist brings to the exhibition their very individual approaches; selecting materials and processes they have both passion for and great skill in working with, to create their desired outcomes. Nick Davies, Sasha Kingston and Jayne Walker find inspiration from the coastal geology of South and West Wales - exploring the rock strata, geographical contours, surfaces shaped by weathering and erosion - the rhythms and cycles associated with the natural world. The artists have kept a dialogue throughout their research and making stages, sharing experiences, observations, experiments with materials.

Nick Davies and Sasha Kingston presented online Art Tutorials linked to their work in Standing Still, as part of the Arts Active summer programme for young people.

A slide show here gives more images and information about the exhibition. There is also a video of the exhibition at the bottom of the page
