TARA DEAN

Print Maker / Gwneuthurwr Printiau

Mandy Nash
Returning to Denbighshire after studying Illustration at Harrow College of Art Tara worked as a Ceramic Artist and developed her portfolio. She works freelance experimenting with printmaking and the screen-printing process.
Inspired and influenced by any environment she might find herself in, the surroundings and natural details found in the land create collages, shaped by textures and pattern in her work. Drawing is most significant in her pieces, developing stencils for layering. Initial lines and marks transform, like magic, creating a new view. Redefining a line or mark, shaping colours almost drawing with the screens.
Exploring with these ‘findings‘ or other collected parts, producing work created from many pieces of the original ‘find’. She will often work on a proof and a finished pieces making a unique print. Tara is passionate about sharing her practice and details within any view are a great inspiration for all her projects, she enjoys sharing these opportunities through community workshops.
With much enthusiasm for experimenting with materials, mark making processes and printing together. Handmade paper has recently become part of her work again and away of recycling the paper stencils she has been experimenting with achieving a smoother paper surface for printing on.

Wedi dychwelyd i Sir Ddinbych ar ôl astudio Darlunio yng Ngholeg Celf Harrow gweithiodd Tara fel Artist Cerameg a datblygodd ei phortffolio. Mae hi'n gweithio ar ei liwt ei hun, yn arbrofi gyda gwneud printiau a'r broses sgrin-brintio.
Wedi’i hysbrydoli a’i dylanwadu gan unrhyw amgylchedd y gallai hi ganfod ei hun ynddo, mae’r amgylchoedd a’r manylion naturiol a geir yn y wlad yn creu collage, wedi’u siapio gan weadau a phatrwm yn ei gwaith. Mae lluniadu yn fwyaf arwyddocaol yn ei darnau, gan ddatblygu stensiliau ar gyfer haenu. Mae llinellau a marciau cychwynnol yn trawsnewid, fel hud a lledrith, gan greu golygfa newydd. Ailddiffinio llinell neu farc, gan siapio lliwiau, bron yn tynnu llun gyda'r sgriniau. Archwilio gyda’r ‘canfyddiadau’ hyn neu rannau eraill a gasglwyd, gan gynhyrchu gwaith a grëwyd o lawer o ddarnau o’r ‘darganfyddiad’ gwreiddiol. Byddai yn aml yn gweithio ar broflen a darnau gorffenedig gan wneud print unigryw. Mae Tara’n frwd dros rannu ei hymarfer ac mae manylion o fewn unrhyw olwg yn ysbrydoliaeth wych i’w holl brosiectau, mae’n mwynhau rhannu’r cyfleoedd hyn trwy weithdai cymunedol, gyda llawer o frwdfrydedd dros arbrofi gyda deunyddiau, prosesau gwneud marciau ac argraffu gyda'i gilydd.
Mae papur wedi'i wneud â llaw wedi dod yn rhan o'i gwaith eto yn ddiweddar, ac mae wedi symud i ffwrdd o ailgylchu'r stensiliau papur y mae hi wedi bod yn arbrofi â nhw i gael arwyneb papur llyfnach i'w argraffu.
