10:00 - 16:00 Fee: £85 (Friends of MGW £76:50) Tutor: Molly Macleod Learn to create your own pigments from unusual found materials with artist Molly Macleod. Try your hand at making your own watercolours, printing ink and paint using rocks and earth from the landscape around you. The pigment making will be followed by an experimental print and mark-making session, exploring the potential of the materials we have created together. Molly Macleod is a multidisciplinary artist exploring scientific concepts through collaborative projects with researchers and scientists. Locating her practice within the space between art and science she employs the scientific method to examine and question cultural phenomena. Molly has grown crystals that hear sounds, cultured the microbial imprint of Tate Modern visitors and formed pigment from her own skin!
