VERITY PULFORD
6 July - 18 august 2021
Verity's work is inspired by the structures within nature. The trees and plants in the landscape around her in North Wales, in particular the small details - the shapes and textures of lichen, moss, ferns and leaves. She is fascinated by light, the magical qualities and atmosphere this can give the plants and trees within the landscape. Also the way it moves through glass - reflects, creates shadows. Verity aims to capture this magic, this ethereal quality - her way of seeing.
Verity was awarded an Arts Council of Wales Research and Development grant last year that has enabled her to develop and further her practice by researching, drawing and creating experimental glass work concerned with investigating the visual and physical correlation between structures and micro-structures within plant and human biology.
