WOOL WORKS MAP/MODUS

28 September - 10 november 2019

After a successful research trip to Finland last November, the joint collaboration between the Welsh group of textile makers, MaP and the Finnish makers group Modus has led to this intriguing exhibition of contemporary textiles, glass, jewellery and mixed media work. The exhibition will later tour to Helsinki and Tampere in 2020.
The theme of the exhibition 'Wool Works', for which the artists have created new work, embraces links between the cultural heritages of both countries. During the exhibition there will be a series of workshops, talks and demonstrations to encourage participation from the public and raise awareness of the applied arts in both Wales and Finland.
Exhibiting artists:
Claire Cawte, Riitta Sinkkonen Davies, Henni Eliala, Pauline Hearn, Johanna Hernesniemi, Niina Hiltunen, Saija Lehtonen, Mirka Laine, Jane McCann, Alison Moger, Sirpa Morsky,  Mandy Nash, Merianne Nebo, Kukka Rantanen, Laura Saarivuori-Eskola, Lynda Shell, Sue Shields, Susan Smith, Alison Taylor, Elspeth Thomas,
